Robbery
April 15, 2019

On Monday, April 15th, just before 2:00 A.M., an unknown man walked into the Circle K store at 3100 Galloway Road North in Lakeland, with armed robbery on his mind.

Working in the store at that time was a 77-year-old female employee.

Our suspect approached the woman, and shoved her down to the ground. He then bent over her and put a pocket knife up to her face, grabbed a handful of coins, then forcefully shoved the woman again and fled.

The good news is that the clerk was not seriously hurt.

Our suspect is someone who needs to be locked up, and the sooner, the better. Someone out there must surely be able to recognize him.

Unsolved Drowning from 1981
April 12, 2019

Winter Haven Police Hope New Composite of Unidentified Drowning Victim Can Lead To Closure of 37 Year-old Case

Winter Haven investigators are releasing an updated composite drawing of an unidentified man who drowned in June 1981. The male, who appears to be in his mid - late 30's was found by a passerby floating face down near the shore in Lake Silver. The body was found on June 14, 1981 and is estimated to have been in the water for a minimum of two days. There was no apparent trauma to the body and the medical examiner determined the cause of death was by drowning.
"Our investigators have not stopped trying to identify this gentleman even though there is very little to go on", said Public Safety Director Charlie Bird.
Little information remains regarding the case due to a host of events that ultimately led to his body being cremated before fingerprints, dental records or substantial DNA could be obtained. The small amount of DNA that was extracted during the autopsy was re-submitted to the University of North Texas Center for Human Identification in 2015, unfortunately having no reportable results.
Investigators believe he was not from the Polk County area as there were no missing persons' reports matching his description. State and national missing persons' databases have been checked to no avail.

Burglary, Spring Hill Estates, Mulberry
April 10, 2019

On Saturday, April 6th, several people in the Spring Hill Estates neighborhood in Mulberry awoke to find that somebody had burgled their cars.

As luck would have it, we found some video of the little darlings who were walking from car-to-car, flipping door handles to find potential burglary victims. These lads even had a vehicle following along for an easy getaway. Honestly, it reminded us of the parents driving behind their little Trick-or-Treaters during Halloween. Only these kids (or maybe adults) aren’t dressed-up as super heroes or monsters. They’re dressed up as burglars. And now we want to dress them up as inmates.

There are two videos here…one from Sabel Lane, the other from the Sundance neighborhood in Mulberry (who also had a visit from the Burglar Fairies). The vehicle you see in both, looks like it could be the same one.

Perhaps we could kill two birds with one stone on this one….or better yet, capture four would-be felons with one good crime tip.

Vehicle Burglary, Lake Link area, Winter Haven
April 04, 2019

See the guy ? He obviously has all the time in the world as he finds a vehicle in the Lake Link area on 4-2-19 and takes his time rummaging through the vehicle. (Are those oven mits he's wearing?)
He must have seen the camera because he looks up a couple of times. (We don't think he smiled) Somebody should recognize his clothing to include the shirt with the emblem and distinctive pattern down the sides.
