Polk County Sheriff’s Office detectives need the public’s help in identifying the subjects involved in a petit theft case.
On 9/21/2019, an unknown black male suspect, wearing a white tank top, blue shorts, and black slide on shoes, entered the Publix located at 2125 Highway 540A in Lakeland, FL. The suspect took a green shopping basket and place several food items inside of the basket. The suspect eventually exited the store without purchasing any of the items. The suspect was observed getting in to a silver Toyota Corolla and fled eastbound on Highway 540 A. The suspect has not been identified at this time.

One of our detectives would like to speak to the man you see in these pictures about one of her cases.
Here’s the scoop…
Mr. J purchased a $50 gift card at a Kissimmee Walmart on September 27th, and gave it to his friend Ms. L later that same day (we could all use a friend like Mr. J, right?).
Ms. L attempted to use the gift card later that same day at the Auburndale Walmart, but the card had no balance.
Management told Ms. L that the card was used at a Gibsonton Walmart less than three hours prior.
Walmart says that the man in the pictures is the man who used that card information (a faux card), so our detective would really like to speak with him. You know, sit down for crumpets and a spot of tea...share stories of days gone by...and perhaps find what's up with the fake card shenanigans.
Surveillance video shows a a male, wearing glasses, with bushy hair, approaching a vehicle, which was locked, and pull on the door handle. The suspect leaves the locked vehicle and walks to the one beside it. This vehicle owner failed to lock their vehicle. The suspect opens the door and rummages through the vehicle looking for something to steal. Then it is on to the neighbor’s house looking for the next unlocked vehicle.
The Lake Wales Police Department is looking for your assistance. First, please participate in the “9 o’clock Routine” and make sure you lock your vehicle at night. Second, please let us know if you can identify this suspect. The suspect is

Between 09/02/2019 and 09/03/2019, a burglary occurred at the City of Auburndale waste water treatment plant at 1300 Recker Highway. Stolen from the location was a white 16’ Lark box trailer that contained a Gravely 260 mower along with Stihl lawn equipment and hand tools.

Polk County Sheriff’s Office detectives need the public’s help in identifying a subject involved in a petit theft case.
On 9/23/2019, the suspect entered the Tobacco and Vape store located at 4672 Highway 540A East in Lakeland, FL. The suspect asked the store clerk questions regarding CBD product and when the clerk walked away to assist another customer, she placed the CBD gummied in her purse valued at $29.99. The suspect fled the scene in an unknown vehicle and direction. The suspect has not been identified at this time.
On Wednesday, September 18th at 11:00 am, a man entered the Circle K convenience store at 2425 Memorial Boulevard West in Lakeland and asked for two packs of Newport cigarettes.
The cashier placed the cigarettes on the counter and the man ran a debit card through the card reader, but it was declined.
The man simply picked up the cigarettes and walked out with them.
The cashier followed, and told the man the card was denied, but he ignored her. He got into a gold Chevy Envoy and drove away.
The man is described as being black with short black hair, about 5’8” to 6’0” tall, and 175-200lbs.

Attempted murder & armed robbery in Winter HavenPolk County Sheriff's Office Robbery detectives are seeking the public's help in an attempted armed robbery and attempted murder that occurred approximately one block west of Lake Howard Drive, east of Lake Deer, in the unincorporated area of Winter Haven.
The incident occurred 10:15 p.m. on Wednesday, September 18, 2019. Three unknown black male suspects shot the victim in the victim's backyard. The victim is expected to recover from his injuries.

Polk County Sheriff’s deputies are seeking the public’s help in a retail theft investigation.
At approximately 10:58AM, on Monday, September 9, 2019, a black male entered the CVS located at 6105 US Highway 98 North in Lakeland and removed several items without paying.
The black male is described as being 30 to 40 years of age, approximately 6’0” wearing a red and white ball cap, black shorts, and a black shirt. The suspect fled east on Daughtery Road West in a white Ford Fusion.

Detectives with the Polk County Sheriff’s Office are investigating a fraud in which a Polk County resident had her checking account compromised.
The victim was notified by her bank that her account had insufficient funds to cover the check from her account.
The check which was cashed was determined to be fake, after it was cashed at a Walmart in Tallahassee on August 31st.
The attached photos are of the man who cashed the check. It is unknown if he is from Polk County, or elsewhere, but hopefully someone will recognize him.
